When I binge I think to myself "its OK I am just going to make myself sick again anyway". It does not seem to be a response to anger or worry. I just do it like a habit. I need to find out why I do this and stop it. HELP!

Sounds like you've got bulimia, go and see a doctor, it is not normal behaviour and you could eventually be killing yourself.

Honestly how do you feel about yourself?
How you truely feel about yourself is where it is most definatly steming from. THis can become a really problem and can be very hard to break if not stopped right away.DOnt binge eat! Snack through the day so you dont feel guilty for eating soo much at one time. It is actually better for your body that way.

But you need to solve the issues you have with how you feel about yourself on the inside before you can solve this. Talk to a family member you feel comfortable with, a councelor or a doctor who can give you support. Your doctor can also reffer you to programs in your area where you can meet people with similar problems. You are not the only one, and you can beat it. Please make an honest effort and try. Good luck and the best of health to you!

Stress is not always a condition that we are aware we are suffering from especially if we are copers. Because we don't neccesarily sit down and worry or have bouts of anger or tearfulness we may beleive that stresss is not something we suffer from .
However many of us have coped with situations for many years and perhaps have even helped others out with their problems but I assure you that compulsive or addictive behavior is nearly always due to a situation of unresolved stress. If their is no real issue with how we look or appear to others then the mind can very often devise ways of making us feel in control with these behaviors and then we feel better but it is a short lived feeling so we repeat the pattern again. I physically it is quite dangerous to keep making yourself sisk and so I strongly suggest that anyone who is in this situation seeks out the help of a proffesional to firstly talk to and then move on to resolve the pattern of behaviour .It is sometimes seen as failure to discover that we are suffering from stress when we both see ourselves as copers and even more so when we are perceived that way by others. We are not failures when we recognise we need help we are winners and sometimes needing help ourselves can really open up the way for some of those people we know to gain from helping us . We are livng in the same world and it is as much of a gift to some-one to allow them to help and support you as you supporting them. x angel

You are in denial and you want people to say that's ok, I do that, but it's not ok. Go see your doctor and you will be surprised how many people this affects, they just don't talk about it. Stop making yourself sick because apart from the obvious health issues, the acid from your stomach will attack the enamel on your teeth and rot them-not a good look!

Well, i think that you have a serious problem it is not healthy at all. You should really try not to binge the way you do if you have been like this, this long. Try to eat smaller portions through out the day. If that does not work then you should really see a doctor.

This is so common- My advice is to seek professional help. It doesnt mean you are crazy. It means you want to get better and the longer you do what you are doing the harder it is to change. It could take you a while to find out why you do it- and even when you find out why you will still want to do it. They say knowing is half the battle- I think its like 10% of the battle.
Life is precious- the older you get the more you realize that. If you have kids or want to have them you wont want to teach them your habbit- so seek some help and find other ways to get that control back. Go easy on yourself- you are worth it.
Good Luck.

Think you need to confide in a friend and get some support about the issue and see a your local gp. If you prefer get your mate to go to the gp with you and discuss the problem with him.
they will probably refer you to a counsoler who will help you find the triggers as to why you have developed this eating problem and ways to deal with the situation.

Considering all the boyfriend/fiance problems you've had, I think it IS because you are angry, hurt, worried all the time. (We can all see your posting history.)

You need professional help. You live in Scotland? I don't know about programs there, but start with your doctor. Immediately.

It's good that you recognize that there is a problem with what is happening to you. You need to seek professional help because you probably wont be able to stop on your own. You are causing harmful damage to your asophogus, and your organs. This could kill you. Please seek help as soon as possible.
