Officer in the military by far. BIG Difference. A police officer is at the same level as an enlisted soldier in pay and responsibility. A military officer routinely starts at a higher pay rate plus has greater responsibility AND you have many, many more options in career moves as a military officer.

A naval officer can have a very nice retirement after 20 years then become a police officer if so still desired. A police officer usually works 30 years for a retirement and then may have to get a second job to support their retirement.

The military wins hands down.

Marine Corps or Army would better prepare you for a career in law enforcement. A buddy of mine who is now a US Marshal went into the Marines with this goal in mind.
