Rent one at Disney. It costs $10 for a single or $18 for a double for the day, and then you don't have the hassle of carrying it from the car to the shuttle to the park. They are smooth rollers and plenty of room for a 5 year old. Unless you're in the market for a large stroller (and at 5, I can't imagine he needs one all the time), don't waste $$$ buying one when you can rent, that's what we do!

We have a very large 2 year old, and I searched and searched for a small, umbrella-like stroller that folded compactly, but was also able to hold his weight. Well, the usual umbrella strollers only hold a max. of 25-30lbs. Anyways, we found one called Maclaren and absolutely LOVE it! Its an umbrella stroller, but rides smoother than any stroller we've ever had. But the best part is, it holds up to 55 lbs and folds just like an umbrella stroller. Its more pricey than a regular umbrella stroller (we got it for $99 at Babies R Us) but it is well worth it. The quality is fabulous as well. We bought the black one because we figured it would not show wear and tear as quickly, but they do have several models and colors. Oh by the way- if you would rather just rent the stroller at Disney, they are very easy to handle, and my 9 year old still rides in a double one with her 5 year old sister! It makes for a happier trip all the way around, and they love it!

Yes, don't listen to Linda, she either doesn't have a 5 year old, or has never been to Disneyworld - or she's a mean mother!!! My five year old was EXHAUSTED from all the walking, especially in the heat. A stroller made for a much more pleasureable experience for both of us. Anyways, when we went we rented a stroller there. It was easier than lugging one around. At times though we have brought one of those cheapie umbrella strollers for him as well - they cost $20 at Babies R Us. Have a great trip!!

Yeah, definitely don't listen to the first person who answered.
Disney World is ALOT of walking for a 5 year old. Especially in the heat!
I'd say rent a stroller and save yourself the money. The strollers are big enough to accomadate a 5 year old.
Have fun!

I agree, rent a stroller or wagon. They probably have cute animals so they will be more inclined to use when tired. Renting also aleviates the hassle with the airplane. Number of checked luggage has decreased. If a stroller is $10/day, that is still cheaper than buying a stroller for the trip.

I always remember when we were little that my Mom and Dad would take a small childrens wagon (playschool or some other brand). 5 years old is a bit old for a stroller. SO, if you can get a wagon. Not only will it hold your child, you can place your other belongings in there as well so there isn't anything to carry!
Here is a link to Toys R Us with some wagon options...a lot more out now than when I was little :)

Hope that helps!

rent one while you are there instead of buying one. that way if you don't end up needing one you aren't stuck pushing it around and if their strollers are like to ones at Disneyland they will fit a 5 yo and are easy to push and remember do not leave anything on your stroller when you walk away from it because it might not be there when you come back.

verify infant Jogger - they grant strollers for toddlers with particular desires and might accommodate extra effective toddlers. My chum has a double infant Jogger that contains her 8 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous with cerebral palsy and his 5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous sister. i'm unsure of their weights, yet they look approximately usual. infant Jogger is costly yet severe high quality, possibly you should discover a used one. solid luck!
