1987 in Montreal. There have been subsequent amendments. It is widely considered the most successful international environmental agreement is history.

We need something similar for global warming. Kyoto wasn't it, some nations didn't sign, others didn't live up to their agreements. Now that the data conclusively shows global warming is real, hopefully we can get something better.
