I have proposed to an Egyptian woman, and we are discussing the next steps about her family. I'm an American Muslim, not familiar with Arab culture. What should I be considering?

I am your Egyptian Princess.
I want you to know that I love you so much, and I see in you the man I've always Dreamed Of, you are my Gift from Allah.
I am so glad that Allah gifted us with Islam, which make us so close, no matter the culture differences, but If we always base our life on Islam, no Culture differences will really matter. The beauty of Islam is that, It's not a mere religion, it's away of life, and what I expect from you and me Enshaa Allah is that Islam will be our way of life.
I LOVE YOU, I say it out loud so everyone can hear it, I Feel I am the luckiest girl in the world, that Allah gifted me with you.

You're a very thoughtful guy to even be considering learning about her culture. However, I'm not sure this is the best place to look for that type of help.
This forum is heavy on sarcasm and evangelism, but light on actual helpful information (but maybe they'll surprise me!).
Good luck to you, and God bless.

How are you an American Muslim and know nothing about Arab culture???? Were you not raised Muslim???

I would suggest doing alot of reading in Arab traditions. It is EXtremely different than western society. And they may be upset that you proposed before asking thier permission. So I would prepare for that...

I'm and anthropologist...and that kind of thing is my field of study....but I would do lots of reading about current Arab culture.

My advise would be to ask her to talk to her parents, then pay them a visit. Get ready for an intense interview also.

I'm a Muslim but not an Arab.
