Why do people ridicule one anothers beliefs? I understand some people don't believe in God, isn't that there choice? Or someone is another religion and it goes back and forth. Either way isn't God a loving god. Isn't the whole purpose of religion or spiritiality to learn to love one another and live by the moral code? I have no quams as to what you are religions, sexaully, racially etc... it is all just a big waste of time to argue who or what is better. In the end we are all the same!

This is just to comment towards the some answers stating it is loving and you are correcting ones beliefs? I don't understand how your beliefs overide someone elses. I want to understand why Christians ridicule Catholics, and Athiests...in a sense it seems to be one of the more predjudice religions and ironically don't they initially stem from the same roots either way with the exception of athiests. Do, you believe that athiests are bad people or Catholics? Do people actually believe Jews are wrong? If we were all the same the world would be very boring. If we learned to accept a lot less people would not have to be giving up there lives (war) to support anothers belief even if it doesn't pertain to there own!

You're right, nobody should judge other people's beliefs. Everybody is right in their pace and in their moment, but people argue and disrespect other beliefs for several reasons. Frustration, defense, even hate. Those are not good feelings at all. Others are just trying to be funny, their life must be boring. Others have no sense of Respect, because their mothers didn't teach them.

Religion doesn't have to become a turmoil when it comes to discussion. It shouldn't be that way.

Don't let it affect you, though. Have mercy on some of them!!

Peace!

In order to use the term "judge" you must first define that term. The way we tend to use it today is NOT the way it is meant when used in the Bible (in many cases). To judge someone in the Bible often means that one being is determining the other being's eternal fate or result. That is God's job alone. That is what we humans are not to judge, lest we be judged also.

We are, however, given rules to play the game by. Each player in that game knows the rules and is allowed to point out the players who are not following the rules. That player is then penalized by the coach (God). God has told us the rules and we are to follow the rules or we get thrown out of the game.

God is a loving god. He loves it when we follow the rules and play a good game. He is hurt when we do not follow his lead and break the rules. He asked that all players help each other follow the rules and point out mistakes to our fellow players, team members.

Of course there are always those who refuse to follow the rules and they never do get on the field with the team. That is their choice. The only thing team members can do is tell them the rules, invite them to follow them and then let it go.

That's because when people believe something, whether it be a scientific theory, religion or myth they see themselves as correct and others as wrong. They may think it their duty to judge others beliefs and correct them; if someone tries to do this by any means possible, you have a "holy war." Also, through debates over religion, as long as you are open minded, you can hear new perspectives and adjust your own.

I do not view it as judging. If a person asks a question and it is answered with Bible scriptures, they have not been judged. If the person disagrees with the answer because that is not what they have been taught, it can sometimes lead to bad feelings and that person may feel they are being judged.

It is God's responsibility to do the judging but he has provided us His Word via the Bible to help us understand and answer life's questions.

Since no body is well informed or read about their own religious doctrines, they cavil at others. If only they understand that all religions lead one to God, who is omnipresent and common to all religious belief, no body would dare to open their mouth against others belief. I love various manifestations of almighty be it from any faith. I respect all religions and their beliefs. nagarajan.

Well judging and believing differently are two different things.
I think we all have our belief system and we express it here.
I agree when it gets hostile that no good can come of it.
Just try to answer the questions according to what you believe and what you know.... thats really all anyone is here for.

the answer lies in your question itself.

every human being when he grows, his mind develops likes and dislikes.

you like one chocalate and you talk about it and suggest others try it. by doing this if more people agree with you, then you feel happy, and when you find someone who says that he did not like that choclate you develop negative feelings for him.

This is same for every like/dislike that we have.

Now you like everyone to respect each other's beliefs, which you cant control.

Try to accept things as they are and you show it practically to others. People normally dont learn from advice, but learn mostly from experience, if not from bad experiences.

People judge other people because it gives them a sense of satisfaction and vanity. It is only natural to judge and make irrational generalizations about people, our minds are designed to pretend their bigger than they actually are. This is why we must work at becoming humble and being more open-minded.
