I don't eat beef, but I love turkey burgers and veggie burgers. Sure, they are healthy when you prepare them at home.

Not from a fast food joint. But at home you can make them healthy. Use lean ground beef, fresh veggies of your choosing, grill the burgers instead of frying them, and use light mayo. Or if you don't like mayo, all the better for you - and mustard is not fattening at all.
You can also get light wheat hamburger buns that are really good - they taste just as good as regular ones.

You need to get your protein some way, and hamburgers are not the worst way... however, it depends how you cook it and if it is lean. However, I would recommend eating a veggie burger that has the same amount of protein and less fat. There isn't much difference in taste either!

Anything in excess is bad for you, really. So if you're eating hamburgers on occasion, it is not bad for you. It also depends on how you prepare them and what you're eating with them (Is it from McDonalds with mayonaise, and a large fry? Or did you make it at your home, using a lean type of ground beef, and having a salad?)

Sure. Just use lean ground beef and try to cook as much of the grease out as possible.
Red meat is LOADED with protein, iron, and a host of other vitamins/nutrients your body needs.

Of course it is, especially the home-made variety with all the vege trimmings, lean meat and heavy, not to heavy on the garnish. I wouldn't eat one everyday because it is best to have variety. Have the occasional home-made burgher and your body will love you. Your wife will be nicer to you and the kids will respect you more. Bring your boss and his wife around to sample some. Job security and happy families don't get the same rap as they used to.

contrary to popular belief, you actually do need to eat fat, even if you are trying to lose weight... fat is an important nutrient that lets your body run and it helps you feel full... with that being said, there are good forms of fat and bad forms of fat, unsaturated fat is better then saturated fat, so it all depends on the type of burgers you are eating... but a good rule of thumb for meat is the better it tastes, the more types of fat that is in it...
if it is lean meat, and you eat in moderation, it can be very healthy (also if you dont put condiments on it)

I'm sure that there are those who would disagree with me.. BUT.... of course it is healthy!! If you use a nice lean hamburg, and make it DELUX... lean hamburg patty (protein) bun (grain) cheese (dairy product) lettuce, tomato, onion, (veggies/fruit).. the FOUR FOOD GROUPS all in one sweet sandwich.. (I think McDonald's should hire me) :)

Depends what kind you eat. If you make them by hand using lean beef, then they're good for you and high in iron. If you use already made patties (fresh or frozen) or eat fast food burgers, those are low grade beef and high in fat.

My motto is "Everything in moderation!" You can have anything that you like to eat as long as you don't have it ALL the time. Trust me! Who REALLY wants a veggie or turkey burger? GAG! My husband had a heart attack a few years ago and even his cardiologist said, "MODERATION is the key!"
