It worked for me. The main thing is that the couple are able to meet and spend time with one another. Also, they both have to be committed to making the long-distance relationship work, which includes communication every day and moving in the same direction to be together.

I think it does, but only in a virtual way... not to a real relationship. Its very dificcult to get in touch when there's a big distance between the couple. I had some great virtual girlfriends... from Russia, China, USA etc, but we never meet in the real world... after some time something happen: or the couple meets, or the relationship reach the end... because there's a real world outside, with real people, and the humans need the smell, the heat of another person, and not only to see the other through a computer, etc.

Some can, some can't, some do, some don't... it depends on who you are and who they are, if you are really compatible. However, I have 2 friends that met people online, and married them, and are now getting divorced. My one friend was from Scotland, married and had a child with an American, and they are getting divorced now and he's pretty messed up over it. He doesn't know if he can get his citizenship, or have to go back to Scotland, and never see his child. So it all depends on the people, how well you know each other, the situation, and the amount of love between them. Good luck.

I know it CAN because my sister's friend met her husband online-he's British and she's from Texas...I would say it probably requires more caution than other methods, as well as the ability to travel abroad, as you'll eventually have to get together to take your romance from oline to real life, but I don't think it being online necessarily means it won't work.

Yes, they can and do. I know so many people who are married and they met and dated (even for years) this way.
However, eventually the couples will have to make time to see and be around each other too.

sometimes. It depends on the people, more than on the countries. If you are willing to commit to something, and to compromise and meet the other person half-way, then it may work. If you are talking long distance, it's more complicated, because then you just have to go on blind trust.

friendships yes - romance sometimes, eventually you have to meet to go to the next level so make sure travelling to and from each others countries is doable - obtain the necessary paperwork asap to travel back and forth and budget accordingly, nothing worse than having the desire and no cash to obtain it.

I would all depend on the people that are involved in the relationship.
