I am moving to Como, north of Milan in 4 weeks. I am TEFL qualified and want to teach but have no experience. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get started?

Google on TEFL and see what happens. Also try onestopenglish.com. That'll lead you to other sites. That area that you are moving to is sure to have language schools, and they are almost always looking for native speakers. So if you find nothing on line it isn't necessarily a bad thing that you go there without a job. That's what I was willing to do when I moved to the Czech Republic two years ago. But I found a job on line and it worked out well for me.

Don't worry about not having any experience as you'll pick it up quickly. Much of your time will be spent in conversation type situations. I offer no advice other than this: learn the local language as best as you can. It helps so much!!!!

The website below is the best general resource for jobs in Italy. However, it's even better if you just go around applying to schools in-person once you arrive. This isn't a great time of year, as a lot of contracts die down in April and May. There is virtually no work to be had in July and August, and things pick up again in September. If you can't get on in a school you can spend the next few months tutoring school kids who have upcoming exams, and possibly training people who work in the hospitality/service industry (if you're a smart cookie who presents him/herself very professionally).

I am sure you will get a job quite easily, there are many language schools both in Como and in Milan, Milan is just about 35 minutes by train from Como
You can look up on google Scuola lingue como and try and contact them http://www.google.it/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Ait%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=it&q=scuola+lingua+como&meta=&btnG=Cerca+con+Google
best of luck
