I lived in both MO (Ft. Lenoard Wood) & NYC (all over),
My son lives in Jackson, MO.
He likes it there, but likes to Visit here. I live it here and have no desire to go there.
I guess it all depends on where you are from and your outlook on things.

I live in Missouri and lived 10 years in New York. I don't like either. Missouri is too provincial, New York is too full of itself (see answer above). It's not all that great a place to live, you have to give up a lot in quality of life and really not get a lot back in return. New York is ok if you're just visiting, there's a lot to see.
I prefer Miami or Southern California in the US. Also Spain, Argentina and Brazil are great places to live and visit.

I don't know much about Missouri, but I hear it is nice, especially aroind the Ozarks. I've met plenty of people from there, and for the most part, they seem really nice.
I think New York is nice andhas lots to do, but I wouldn't want to live there. I'm not one for long winters, crowds, and traffic. All people are different, so if you like the big city life, you picked the right place. Most New Yorkers are really nice, despite their reputation. I live in a warm climate, so the winter shouldn't be a big deal to you.

I've never been to Missouri, but I've lived in NY my whole life...everyone is right in calling it the best city in the world...culturally, financially, quality of life, etc. NY has got it all! it is a very expensive place to live, but it is well worth it! welcome
