Here is a nice link that I found usefull when it came to moving into my apartment. The main idea I got out of it was the placement of "my stuff"... Pictures, desks, tables and rugs- it's all how you space things that makes them stand out.

No lectures, or smart remarks here, I've been told, im a cool 60 yr. old. ; ) Im thinking of this for one idea, using your favorite colors, how about going with the lightest shade of your color preference, on the whole wall, then take a big sponge, dip into your next favorite color, apply here and there, in blotches, let it dry, then get some musical note decals, and border the top section of wall with the notes, you could go with black notes, or see if you can find the musical notes, that would work with the colors you painted on the walls? But 1st, please, discuss this with your parents 1st, they maybe like the idea, and be able to help you out further with it. And the wall color should be more in the pastel colors.

There are metallic paints on the market that can give you a bling look - would look nice as an accent wall with some another color like purple, red or hot pink on the other 3 walls.

Curtains with beaded or fringe accents make a nice statement along with satin throw pillows.

If you have a ceiling light fixture, there are lots of options for replacing it at home improvement or lighting stores that are inexpensive and can make a world of difference in the "vibe" of your room. If not, you can pick out a hip floor or table lamp.

Good Luck!

first thing first . make a board or scrap book. get maz, books catalogs and cut out some of your favorite things, to get an idea of what you would like to do with your room. look at your clothes what colors do you wear? the colors you wear will probably be the colors that you you want your form to be in.go to a paint store to pick up some color samples to add to you scrape book.l since you are 15 your style will change alot so paint dressers neutral colors to match your next style. paint and fabric are cheaper so go as wild as you want there. you said you like rap so maybe try silver .chrome, dark reds , navy blues or white. frame some of your favorite CD covers and make a colage of them on your walls. buy some fur fabric to make pillows, rugs and blankets . you don't even have to sew just buy strong fabric glue but read the label ti see if it is machine washable. have fun. try looking at jcpenny catalogs they have a MTV cribs collection to get some ideas.

Maybe you can start by choosing a favorite artist and echoing their style in your room. For example, if you like old school, Flava Flave, you might want to hang up some clocks that look like the one he wears. Some posters or famous rappers would be good, as well as NBA stuff, since they use their jerseys and other apparel. Try to get someone to design a graffiti mural in your room; maybe your name or your favorite phrase. Have fun with it!

You'll need to search a little, but this is a link to teen bedrooms on hgtv's rate my room. There are more than teen bedrooms here, includes masters and nurseries for some reason, just tagged wrong I guess, but you'll find a lot.
