I tried to play a mid file type and the Winamp actually "plays" it, only without the sound. I made sure this file type is checked in the supported files list and everything seems to be OK, but there is no sound, what is wrong?

there may actually be a problem with the file itself, a lot of people record files and save them to web spaces without actually checking that they work and there fore you get a blank file just a time lapse

1 way around it is to find another file of the same thing and see if it plays if it does delete the original file you have if not try using a different program to see if it plays in it

Be sure that the speakers are connected to the computer .
Go to control panel , then double click on the icon named
" Sounds and Audio Devices " , if mute option is checked ,
un check it . Or raise the volume in the group nemad
" Device volume " . If the problem is not solved , click on the
button " Advanced... " , and raise the volume on the wave .

Try uninstalling WinAmp, then shut down your computer and then re install the program again.
Also make sure your speakers are on and connected to your computer.
