Yes, I know several Chechen speaking people.
Chechnya was part of the Soviet Union. The vast majority were deported to Kazakhstan by Stalin, many died on the journey. They were allowed to return after Stalin's death in the mid-50s.
After the break-up of the Soviet Union they sought independence. This was refused. Since then there have been two wars in the area, the latest of which is still in progress. Mainly Muslim, the Chechen people have absolutely nothing to do with Georgia, geographically, linguistically or religiously. Georgia is a principally Christian and borders the Black Sea.

No, sorry.
Although I met a Chechen guy once, he spoke it along with Russian (he needed an interpreter to speak French). He was giving a presentation about the Chechen war, but it seemed like propaganda to me. I lost contact, being that I don't speak Russian or Chechen and can't afford a translator.

Chechens (Chechen: Noxçi, singular Noxçuo) constitute the largest native ethnic group originating in the North Caucasus region, which is now the country of Georgia.
The main languages of the Chechen people are Chechen or Noxchiin mott and Russian. Chechen belongs to the family of Nakh languages (North-Central Caucasian Languages). Literary Chechen is based on the central lowland dialect. Other dialects include Ingush, which has speakers in Ingushetia, and Batsi.
