I also work in the Medical Field, and am surprised that you, as a Nurse, would ask advice for an illness to fake, in order to get off work... Why not ask for a couple of weeks off ? If you ever really do become ill, then you will still have "sick days", to cover your absence..

I suggest mental. Think of it this way. If you let your job make you feel like you need a couple of weeks off. Then you need to mentally regroup.
I know from experience that being a nurse is very demanding. If you don't take time to recuperate yourself both mentally and physically, not only do you suffer, but so do the people around you.
So, just tell your employer that if you don't get the time off, you may suffer from a mental breakdown and you don't want your job or your fellow employees to be compromised because of this.
Good Luck!! And remember to find time for yourself at least 30 minutes out of the day. Even if that means locking yourself in a bathroom!!!! ;)

Mono. I was off of work for about two weeks with it. It was not fun at all. It lowered my immune system so much, I kept getting colds and what not. So I'd totally go with Mono if you want a couple of weeks off.
