Its a long story but I'll make it short. My friend was trying to make a comeback with his ex girl. As a result he asked me to deliver some letters from him to that girl. I saw the girl's best friend I liked her. I told my friend to tell the girl that i liked that i liked her. She eventually wrote me a letter saying that she kind of liked me too and that she wanted to get to know me better, even gave me her phone#. On monday I was about to start talking to it but another guy out of nowhere came out and made his move. I dont know what to do, should i go for it and talk to her or just forget about it?

You have an very common situation on your hands but the guy that made his move on the girl you are interested may have not been much at all and if she is smart and wants to date you then she will tell the guy that is hitting on her that she is interested in someone else and would like to be friends with him if that is ok. I would not read too much into it right now just see what happens and if they advance and they start going out then maybe for some reason she had a change of heart and decided to go with the other guy but then why would she write to you what she did if she did not mean it or it was just to see if you would respond to her, maybe you could find out from her what the deal is and maybe found if her and the other guy you saw her with are dating or thinking about that way you know you need to do next.

yes you should go for it. she might like you more than that other guy. or she might not. but at least then you will know and won't spend all your time wondering.
another piece of advice: talk to her, stop writing letters

talk to her. i like this guy but this other girl is making moves but he is making moves w/ me so maybe she likes you more than him

If she gave you her number you should make a move and if she is interested you should ask her about the other guy, just to see wat was happening there.
