The above answer about Atkins is correct, however it was pertaining to women and losing weight, but since you're a woman, I'm guessing that's not a problem. FYI, that was a study done recently, and I think I heard it on the news last week.

The same diets don't always work for everyone, though. I tried Atkins, and it didn't really work for me. I do Weight Watchers now, and it is a very healthy way to lose weight.

As far as exercises go, you can find good exercises online, just look them up. Just remember that you should incorporate strength training with your cardio, because it's muscle that burns fat.

There is a BIG difference between loosing weight and losing fat.

Low carb diets cause huge weight loss but most of this weight loss is muscle and water. Any fat loss is because cutting carbs is cutting calories.

Carbohydrates are needed for normal function of the brain and the entire nervous system. In addition, they are the ONLY source of fuel for the kidneys. Low carb diets cause the body to cannibalize muscle to make carbs for these functions. This generates extra waste which the kidneys have to process while being low on fuel. Basically, low carb diets increase the risk of hypoglycemia and are stressful on the kidneys. Also, the loss in muscle lowers the resting metabolic rate and makes it harder to lose additional weight.

A healthy way to lose fat is to eat 6 small but balanced meals. The carbs should be high in fiber and the proteins should be lean. Fats should be sparing but concentrated in the omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. Basically, no grease, booze, or candy.

Lift weights because the increase in lean mass will cause you to burn extra calories 24 hours per day. Also, cardio helps.

Here are some links to info on fat loss, a sample meal plan, a weekly workout, and the truth about low carb diets.
