My younger brother keeps asking if he can join my gym & work out with me in the mornings before I go to work & he goes to school (college). I keep putting him off because I know we will both have to shower together after our work out, and sometimes I use the steamroom, both naked of course. Should I let being naked in fron of my brother worry me?

I'm 24, my younger brother is 20. The showers at the gym are communal (1 room, 8 shower heads, no partitians) I'm sure he knows the showering situation, yet he still asks. Should I take it as a sign he's okay with it, and therefore I should be okay with it also? Anybody else been in that same situation?

He's your brother. As long as you both are comfortable with your sexuality I don't see a problem with it. Now if it was some random man I could understand your hesitation about showering at the same time. If you are not comfortable with it and you guys are driving separate cars, take turns in the shower.

I don't see any problem taking a shower together, you are not kissing or hugging right? then, and more because he is your brother, you should see it as a nice friendship. I even shower with my mates or when is the case with my cousins if we all go to swim or something, and we go into the sauna rooms in those clubs we go to, and we just chat and have a good laugh and that doesn't mean we like each other. So don't be silly, probably he admires you and that's why he asks you wether he can join you in the gym or other places. My brother is quite young, he's 9 but still he wants to do everything with me. That´s brothers for you.

Okay you are both guys right, this isn't a brother and sister thing right? Because if so, I don't see what the big deal is, what is the difference if it is your brother or another guy. Now if this is a brother sister thing then heck now, what the heck gym are you going to where guys and gals shower and sauna together anyway!

Honestly, youre brother probably just needs some pointers at the gym. You're overreacting with this one. He's 20, I dont know what youre so worried about. Spend some quality time with your brother. Relax.

no thats just weriod. and all of the gyms i have been a member of have seprate showers and sauna for men and women. and if he wants to take a shower then you could go to the sauna. i think he is old enough to shower by himself i mean you did say he was in college. i just cant get over that your gym has a group shower and sauna, thats creepy.

i dont know i'm not a guy. I think everyones raised different, and if you havent seen each other naked before now, then yes it would be awkward. Maybe he doesnt want to see you either, and just isnt thinking about that. Just let him join, but do things seperatly. I doubt he'll beg to be naked w/ you.

Its not that serious, you take showers in front of strangers don't you? At least you know your brother wont be looking at you sexually and what could the strangers be thinking?

i think he can himself shower, as he is a guy ,of20, studying in a college..it, somehow gives us a shy ,feelings, know?
i can't just take shower in front of anyone,., from 10 upwards it gives us a maturity of showering individually.hence, my opinion about it is not to do that.<\~~/>

he is your brother...that is not ok! You are not kids anymore to shower together. Things change. I think that is against the norms.

ummm...you all shouldn't be seeing each other naked after the age of 4. if he must go with you, take turns in the shower and sauna to avoid seeing each other naked, please.
