The father of my child is from Virginia he moved to Pennsylvania when I wanted to come back home when we found out I was pregnant. Will the judge look at that during a custody hearing or just who is the "better" parent? And what makes one parent more fit than the other in the courtroom

Jasmine, the court is looking for the parent who will provide the safest, most loving environment. Will you be sharing custody? Will the father have visitation? Providing you have the ability to care for this child, a roof over their head, food on the table, love and stability that this very important. Example: if your ex beau has had DUI's or been in prison for a crime, has a drug history or domestic violence history, not likely the judge will give him custody. Good luck to you!

They look for: who is actually concerned with the best interest of the child. Have you or he tried to come up with a plan that lets your child have a relationship with both of you or a way you can both be part of the decision making? A judge will look at parental actions like those to figure it out. Also- a way to provide..a home and food- work, welfare, assistance etc. as long as it is provided.

All judge is going to see of you are a good mother and do you have a place that the child can run around and play with other kids. They look at how you live, how you will take care of your child. Then they will see how and what he ca provide for the child. It depends

The judge will determine who the child is most fit to live with. If he sees that yall both are he will probably give joint custody between the two of yall.
