i had tattoos when i met my husband. he had none. i have always been interested in continuing my collection and he has always said that he wanted a tattoo too that he just didn't know what he wanted. well finally last year he started on his first one and it was huge. and in december he got his second one. i still don't look at him like a "tattoo person" so it's weird to see him with tattoos.

as for him and my tattoos... he has shown a little bit of resistance but when i asked him about it he just said that he doesn't want to see people judge me for my tattoos because he knows the kind of person i am and he doesn't ever want someone to think that i am a "bad" person or "trashy" and all of those other stereotypes. so i thought that was sweet. but he has given me the green light to continue with my tattoos!! yay!

My guy does not like my tatts, but on the flip side, I don't like his, but we both respect the beautiful artwork that each other has chosen to put on their body, and I think my fiance is beautiful, piled of rotting skulls sleeves and all!! :)

I always swore that I would never ink my arms, but that flew out the window about 6 tattoos ago!! It makes me feel secure in knowing that no matter what I get tattoos, I can come home at the end of the day, and my guy will say "You know what? That is not a tattoo that I would get, but if you like it, then that is alll that matters!"

I have a similar problem because even though my husband loves tats, he doesn't want me getting a back piece. He's afraid that I'll end up regretting it and be unhappy with not being able to really show it off at formal events (we both come from very conservative families). In the end, it is my body and though I take everything he says into consideration, it is my decision to make. To compromise, we've decided to wait a year trial to see if I still want it. That way it isn't just an impulse decision and we're both happy. That's marriage--compromise. :)

All the proselytizing I do here about a person's body & their choice is instantiated in my home life. Even if my gf didn't like tats - and she does - she wants me to do as I please (and vice-versa). She does occasionally have artistic commentary, but it's always constructive and really only if I ask.

She's getting her first on her birthday in early May, a present from me, and the day before that is one of my appointments. She's a little nervous but rather excited. It should bring the inked percentage of her dance troupe to about a third, I think.

I have changed my tune over the years...I used to think tats on a girl made them look like trailer trash...but now (assuming the girl is pretty to start with) I find them very very sexy...not over the top...just some small stuff on the biceps, lower back, and down at the panty line, I like it when they just barely show when they wear low hugger jeans...and ankles are okay too...if you had real nice boobs I could see one there too...lol...like I said I have really changed my tune. But if you don't have a nice body I don't think they look good...

Yep! Sure have had issues. Especially with the most recent one(on my girl part-remember?)When I first got it done, he threw a mini fit, because I was showing some other dude "his" stuff. To which I replied, "What part of 'I am getting my p*ssy tattooed' didn't you understand, Sweety?"(wasn't being disrespectful). He said he thought I was getting it to the side. What? On my stretchmarked and saggy belly? uh-yuh. THAT woulda been sexy. He even tried to tell me that he never liked the fact I got tattoos, which is b.s. to the fullest, cuz he asked me to get one on my rump. He said I didn't get the one he was talking about.(Mmmhmmmmmmmmmm.....????). Yet, he gets turned on everytime he sees that tatoo. So, a few minutes after we stopped talking about it, he put his head down, sighed, apologized for going off on me, and now, he really likes it. He doesn't even mind that I have to show some other dude "his" stuff again, to get the word "Jucey" corrected.
And for as long as I can remember, he's been saying he wants to get a tattoo...but he is scared of needles. Significant others...PSH! Go figure! ;)

I had that issue with my ex, thus the reason for him being an ex. He tried to turn me into a woman I would never be and its was ridiculous the things that he would tell me I was ugly for. Oye.

As for now, the man I'm with is planning half sleeves and I recently gave him his one and only piercings (a labret). He loves tattoos and I do as well, he just kindly requested that I leave my face alone.

My husband and I both love tattoos getting and giving (I tattoo). But he does kinda make faces when I talk about certain places I want to tattoo and vice versa. In the end we are responsible for our own bodies and I'm just glad that neither of us has a general problem with tattoos or tattooing.

Glad your husband came around with a little loving arm twisting. lol just kidding...

Not me, my wife and I have close to 30 between us. We usually get them together. She said she would never get arm tats, but is close to having an upper arm sleeve now. We help each other decide on placement and color. It's our idea of a date most of the time.

Funny how the tat bug bites us and doesn't let go.........

hahah, yeah my boyfriend doesn't hate my tats, but he doesn't want to get any more ink (cause all im doing is staining my body - those are his words) Everytime i talk about it he growls at me, its hella funny.

my latest tat though he actually likes because its kinda for him, i incorporated 2 interlocking hearts in the middle of the design to show our love for one another.

He wont ever get one and i wouldnt push that subject on him, i just think its cute when i mention getting another i get growls and scowls haha.
