Iran's navy seized British boats and sailors from Iraqi territorial waters. This should be considered an act of war, and they should be issued an ultimatum immediately, turn them over or be prepared to accept the consequences. A military attack on another nation's military IS an act of war, so how is this not considered one??

I'm not saying you immediately nuke Tehran, but one country kidnapping another country's military must be considered an act of war. IF the sailors are forced to confess to anything, then the Iranians should be charged with war crimes by coercing confessions for propaganda purposes, a clear violation of the Geneva conventions (something Vietnam liked to do...).

i think as usual the Iranians are pushing to see just how far they can go. i doubt the UK or the USA will rise to the bait. and there will be a diplomatic end to it all

They are not the official navy, although they turned their prisoners over to the navy. It was an act of aggression by teh officially independent Iranian Republican Guard against a UN operation, therefore anyone at the UN that had brains (follow with me for hypothetical sake ok?) would say the UN forces should blast any IRG boats and personnel out of the water on sight. Without declaring hostilities on Iran or Iran's navy, which was not involved in today's piracy.

well, it would be terrible if it was true. But first have a survey on it to know if it was a trustable news , or a political trick?

In addition , remember the reasonless USA's attacking on the Iranian AIRBUs and killing the innocent peoples,( few years ago).....and such these events.wer'nt those big crimes?!?

Finally' i must say that All Of Us believe this fact, that every promblems could be solved in Diplomatical Ways.
Persians have a great history and a good culture, but what a pity that nowdays we hear this goddamn news!

We need to see what exactly happened, but it goes to show that Iran's intent is not peaceful, they want a fight.

now the only problem is, if they start a fight the far left liberals will blame Bush and Blair and will sit around crying and protesting instead of figuring out a solution or doing the right thing.

Oh it's an act of war alright . And I'd guess that Britain's ambassadors are making this very clear to the Iranians !!
They think that by causing an international incident, that oil prices will go up because of market uncertainty . . . . . and they're right about that, but wrong about the consequences !!!

BTW, I joined when they took our people hostage, and I still remember our 'cadence songs' about kickin some Iranian butt !!
I'd share them with you, but I'd be in violation of guidelines !!!

It's an act of war.
This is not the first time Iran has pulled this stunt, to get attention and concessions.
They are counting on the UN to keep them from being BLASTED into very small peices.
The real Question is, WHAT DO THEY WANT ?

Don't know the answer, Korea shot down a US EC-121,
and captured the USS Pueblo (held crew for about a year)
in international waters, and all that came from that was a
lot of "diplomacy" (sellout) -- agreed, these incidents were
acts of war -- now what ?

It is definitely an act of war.
These are the same people who took our embassy over and held US Citizen hostage for over a year!
The time to talk ended about 30 days after they took the embassy.
In this instance...it's not our men taken...but the UK is our ally....and we must stand with them.

If you keep poking a sleeping bear....at one point that bear WILL lash out with teeth and claws!

So....how much longer do we keep sleeping??

I would say so.

But I also believe Iran knows that the US or UK cant respond with another war.

Plus, any sort of force would jeoperdize the soldiers. They will do it diplomatically.

If they were to kill the soldiers, I would say go US, UK, and Israel. Just bomb the hell out of them.

But I dont think abjerhadem (or whatever) is even crazy enough to kill the soldiers.

Yes, this is an act of war by any standards. I'm waiting to see howthe Brits respond. They need Maggie back as PM.
