We all have some fear of being rejected when we really like some one. Depending on how long you've known this guy you could just come right out an ask him if he's sees you ever being more than just a friend. If it's a new crush, there's nothing wrong with taking time to build a friendship because working on a friendship and a romantic relationship at the same can be tough. Bottom line... good guys respect honesty and often appreciate a girl making the first move. Don't play games.

First, stop, and check your self out. Do you feel confident in your ability to communicate. Have you tied yourself emotionally to this person? Do you think that people find you appealing? My point is this, check your self-esteem. Rejection is not the end of the world. Remain positive. You have to believe that you are desirable enough for this gentleman to be interested. If you haven't established contact, start with a simple **HELLO**. You can tell if a guy likes you genuinely by the way he looks at you. When he talks to you look into his eyes, and watch his hands. He can be cooler than a fan, but our nerves will betray us every time. Especially if we are digging you.

You will not ever know unless you ask him.
Eye contact and flirting mean nothing, well they mean very little. Just that there is a connection which could just be friendly.
You need to ask.
Swallow your pride, what is the worst that could happen?
Do not allow yourself to be embarassed. Remember, if things work out, you will be a couple and everyone will know, so make sure your friends know. This way if it doesn't work out you have a support system. Also if you get along with his friends and you are worried about his reaction, tell them too. See how they react, this could be very, very important.
If people KNOW how you feel about him and they support you, you will have nothing to worry about. If he says yes you will have a new boyfriend. If he happens to say no (sorry) remember, you have your friends AND HIS for support, he will look like a douche.
Plus, in two years who is going to remember or care who you asked out...unless your still together.

As a guy I know that he wont reject you if you are HOT! Nah but seriously just ask him there is nothing to it, failure is hard to accept but failing without even trying is worse than failure itself!

if you're not sure of what he'll say you can do a number of things. ask him to go out with you and a group of friends, then talk to him all night. suggest "hey we should go out sometime, have a drink, grab a bite to eat or something" you know the nonchalant thing. if all else fails do the high school thing: have your friend ask him!
