I have completed my engineering in computer science. While i was doing my engineering i had many medical problems and i used to do a lot of reading about my problems which led me to read a lot about other problems too.
I have read a few basic first/second semester medical science books and found them very interesting.
My point is that even though i am good in computer engineering, i am very much interested in becoming a doctor and i feel that i have the patience & ability to do it.

So now how do i persue this. Do i need to do a graduate level course in medical science or can i directly join a MBBS university. What is the criteria for getting into a Medical college in USA,Canada,UK,Australia.

I would like to thank you in advance for your answer.

In the US, the requirements are the generally the natural sciences, biology, chemistry, physics -- everything after that is somewhat nondescript, because people come in to med school with all kinds of different backgrounds. One thing is for sure though, you won't be alone in having had a different career outside of medicine before going to med school. There are numerous people in my class that have been out of school for quite a while, so you'll be in good company if you're really determined to do it.

Cool, man. Maybe you can even combine the degrees and do something medical that involves computer science. You would have to complete the required courses and take the standardized exams (MCAT) before you can apply to medical school. I believe in Australia, you can go to medical school right out of high school and they give you a BM (bachelor's in medicine). I don't know if the system has changed from 30 years ago. I believ Canada's system is similar to the US. I don't know about the UK. But there's a good english speaking medical school in Belize.

In order to be accepted to medical school, you need to have many basic science courses that are usually not required for a computer engineering major, for example, chemistry through the first year and into organic chemistry. You will probably have to go back to school and complete those courses. I would recommend that you talk with an academic advisor or counselor at a community college in your area. After you complete all the basic courses, you can apply for medical school. Admission to medical school is highly competitive, so you will need very good grades and will probably need to apply to more than one school.
