I will be travelling to Southern Italy this summer and I want to
know if I bring my blow dryer if it will work with the plugs there!
Is it the same?

No. You actually have two problems. The electrical sockets are not the same and the current flow is different. In the US and Canada we use 60 cycle power while 50 cycles is used in Europe. This probably won't be too rough on your hairdryer but would be devastating for clocks and other cycle driven appliances.

Both the electrical current and the plugs are different but if you're staying at hotels, you can write to ask if they provide hair dryers. More and more of them do nowadays.
