The numbers might be lower.

I can only go by what I see around me. There is a church down the street that grew by leaps and bounds about 5-6 years ago. Now they can't fill the seats. Meanwhile, there is a church down the other way that is a mega-church. They boast 25,000 members, but there is nowhere near that many in attendance.
BTW, I know this because my nieces go to the first church, and the second one is on tv so I'll catch it every now and then to see what they're up to.
I live in the bible belt.

I don't have the statistics but I think it's been declining in the US for a long time. I don't know one person who attends Church regardless of their beliefs. I think people are seeking more than dogma and many churches aren't supplying more than that. It felt so empty to me that I needed to change to something that nourished my spirit.

From time to time, faith becomes fashionable and people flock to churches. But the newly converted often drop out when the magic show does not appear in their lives. They never intended to begin a deep, spiritual connection to God, so they get bored and leave.

I can't imagine how going to a church could help your sex life. Guilt, shame and fear usually turn me off.

improving a person's sex life eh? well, mine's very good, so it doesn't really apply to me. maybe that's because i'm not christian
it's unfortunate that christians don't get the opportunity to enjoy sex as much as they could. life is short, it should be fun!
