Are you sure your cat is a he?
I've had a cat or two hang out by my house, seemingly waiting for my cat to come out and play, like kids. If your cat is a he, for sure its only a matter of time before he comes back home with a bitten ear of something because the males will fight when its mating time.
If your cat is female then I don't have to tell you what the other cats are hoping for.
If you feed your cat outdoors then maybe your neighborhood cats are looking for handouts. If you have somebody near you who doesn't put a tight lid on the garbage pail that works for treats for cats too. Besides the open garbage, mice and rats are attracted to the litter and hopefully the cats will catch enough of the offspring to keep the population down.. Thank God for cats!!!

Maybe he is the Don of the gang. If you cat was female I would say she was in heat, but being a male it could be you leave food and water outside. Most likely these are just his friends and they go and roam together, keep a close ear out for fights, and an open eye for injury. If you notice either please leave him inside at night, he is safer in your home than anywhere else.

Nothing wrong with having a cat out. It's not like any diseases don't get carried in by homans, so that's no reason to not let a cat be a cat, have some common sense.
No reason a cat can't have friends either.

He may not come home injured yet, but he does run the risk of getting diseases and parasites from other animals. Cats belong inside to avoid this.

You should not let you cat go outside of your house. I do a lot of rescue work and in fact, on my very own street this past week end, two coyotes ate someones cat that was allowed outside. People hit them on purpose with their cars, feed them horrible things. Its sad. Ask any vet and they will tell you its better to keep them indoors. They live longer, and don't run as high of a risk for feline aids, respiratory infections, and outside dangers like dog, coyote, and human attacks. People are so F'ed up its sick. KEEP YOUR CATS INSIDE!

Cats are social, to an extent. If they're used to being outside at a particular time, they'll usually learn to get along.

I put my cats in the morning and when I get home from work until bedtime for this very reason. All those cats out prowling may be infected with Feline HIV or FLV(luekemia). I hope you kitty has all his vaccinations. One scratch or bite from those hoodlums could infect him with a horrible disease.

I call it tom catting. He's fighting for his territory. All i can say is let them fight it out. he's gonna have to stand up to hiss territory. or simply make him an indoor cat or go out with him when he goes out and keep an eye on him.

why the hell are you putting your cat out at night. it should be illegal to have your cat out unattended period let alone at night. you really don't care about your cat do you. you should take him to a no kill shelter where he can find a family who will take care of him and love him.
