I agree....but yet fundies will still tell you that all the horror that happens in the US is because of the lack of god, or god is punishing us for our sinful ways.

First i would like to state that even though we may be considered a Christian nation, the truth is most Americans that claim Christianity do not truly follow the teachings of Christ. Why would wicked people prospering be a surprise. Deceit, manipulation, bribery, slanders, and crushing everyone in your way is an easy way to achieve success but in the end they always lose. Whether it be to someone else who out played them or to a miserable and lonely life. King David makes the statement many times, knowing that their destruction will come. In most of your rich countries you will find that the country itself is rich, but the people are not. Following biblical principles and moral standards will also lead to success it just takes more time and the results last. Some example of some Christian Americans that based their companies on Christian values are; Sam Wall (Wal-Mart/Sam's Club), Walt Disney, and Dave Thomas (Wendy's) just to name a few. If we were truly a Christian Nation you would see a lot less hunger and poverty in our country. Not because all would be rich, but because all would want to help the less fortunate and help them to become as successful as themselves. Instead we hate to see others surpass us.

mmmm, I contest with that assessment, high levels of drinking, drugs and STD's related illnesses, not to mention obesities in MEDCs.
I do agree that More Economically Developed Countries have a better health service, they have the economic power to invest in expensive schemes to help maintain a workable force for the growth of their respective economies.
But it is too general to say indefinetly the good health nature of civilian health of any nation, without a the thorough analysis of variables.
It must be said, what do "non-believers" do that is so differenet to "believers" in their actions in relation to health?
Hindus for example are vegetarians, Muslims never drink alcohol etc.
Please elaborate?

If you could point to the specific article, rather than only last name and date, it might make your particular source easier to find. I'd like to see such things as the definition of "believer" as it relates to the article at hand.
It's impossible to discuss or find interesting an article such as this without more specific information.

I think most democracy's don't have the Christian lobby groups US government has to cope with so the Church's don't have as much political power in other western democracy's.

The devil led him [Jesus] up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And the devil said to Jesus, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours." (Luke 4:5-7)
'Nuff said.

God doesn't care about your wealth He just wants you to rely on Him. Some of the world's poorest nations rely on Him and will be blessed when they get to heaven.

i think desperation and lack of education leads people to believe
the more people look at life realistically the less people will sit on their hands and pray about it, rather than do something about it

Yes. That is what good education and good prospects of life do.
You do not have to take refuge in a God to explain life and relieve your fear...

Therefore, it implies that, if we want to be healthy and wealthy, be a non-believer.
Religion only makes you feel guilty, not deserving, weak,...
So, how can a sick mind be healthy and have energy to work for more wealth?
