You'd need to keep your reps 3 sets of between 7-9 to build the muscle faster.

Lower reps will increase your strength, but they wont bulk you up.

Higher reps will increase your tone, but wont bulk you up.

Strictly speaking your should try as hard as possible to do resistance train with equal amount on each side of the body at the same time. Not doing so can mess up your spine.
And because of the likely hood of better control on one side than the other, you're unlikely to be able to treat each side of your body the same as you do one armed pushups, so the results will be different.

Try something more reasonable like normal pressups with your hands closer to your waist, and/or doing them while wearing a rucksack filled with books.

That would be better for you.

Yes, because you are placing all of your body weight on just 1 arm, instead of just half the wight when you do 2 armed ones (since you are placing twice the weight on your arm, it will cause your muscles to work twice as hard)

They are definitly a level up. I would try two first then move up to one for that extra level of fitness. Especially the weaker arm too.

u will build muscle better but only in one arm!
