It means you left your window open.Unless it was on a Wednesday past 2.pm on the eve of a full moon in the months of march or September with the winds coming from the east and the temperature was above 65 degrees then it basically still meant you left your window open and forgot to put a screen in.
Now had it been a raven it would depend on what it had to say.
I didn't find any mythology dealing with a black sparrow though it was believed in many old time customs of several different nationalities of peoples who attributed the raven and crow as being the messenger between the spiritual world and the waking world

In old mythology the sparrow carries the soul to the afterlife. So, when a sparrow flew into a house, people thought that it was looking for the dying person so that it could carry off the soul. If it perched on a certain persons chair or bed rail, then the omen was thought to be for that person, but if the sparrow just flew around then it was thought that the person destined to die had visited the house but didn't live there.

It means that a sparrow flew through your window. Try putting something on the window so the birds get scared away.

In previous mythology the sparrow includes the soul to the afterlife. So, on an identical time as a sparrow flew suitable right into a house, human beings theory that it became into finding for the shortcoming of existence individual so as that it ought to hold off the soul. If it perched on a undeniable persons chair or mattress rail, then the omen became into concept to be for that right, yet on an identical time as the sparrow basically flew around then it became into theory that the guy destined to die had visited the abode yet did now not stay there.

It means you need to close the window. But...if black "sparrows" run close to the myth of black "cats", I have no idea. I've never heard anything about black animals besides the cats.
I'd still close the window after you get him out so no more come in!!

That happened to me once, when I stayed at my sisters.
I was sleeping she came in started screaming and left and shut the door, returned with a blanket over her head and opened the window, and again left closing the door leaving me in the room with a flying bird lol.
I dont think its bad luck or anything, as we did not have bad luck after that day.

OOPS, I misread. It flew into your house, I thought it hit the window...
Anyway, I wouldnt believe ANYTHING superstitious about it.
I've had too many weird things happen in the past, such as pictures falling off the wall or breaking a mirror....
