But, The videos and pics I took on the day it decided not to work I need. So I have a Casio Exifilm EX-Z500. I have a 1gig card in it. I took pictures one day and put camera in cradle turned on and pics come on in computer. Fine, perfect, worked well. Next day take it out, take some pics and a few videos. Bring home and computer and camera say those files are corrupt. But I can still see pics from previous day. So I go out again and take more and they show up. So did my memory card take a day off or something. I still have these files on the card, because if there is a chance I can get them to open, I NEED them. Can anyone help me with this issue...???...

Intermittant failure is one of the most difficult things to diagnose. It could be that your memory card or your camera is starting to fail. If you remove and re-insert the card regularly, it could be that some dirt got in the slot that one day. It could be that the battery got low on the "bad" day.

To see if the pics from that one day are really corrupt, you need to try to read the card on a different reader.

Take the card out and try to read the pics directly through a card reader slot. If your computer does not have one, perhaps a friend or neighbor has one. If no other computers are available, take the card to a self serve photo processing lab, and see if the input kiosk machine can read your pics.

If someone else's machine can read your pics, let them copy the pics to CD and take that back to your computer. If no other machine can read your pics, they are probably lost. Sorry. You might try taking the card to a pro photo lab and see if they can recover the corrupted pics.

After you have either captured your pics or given up, format the card in your camera and test it out with some new pics. You might want to run a long video to test the whole card.

If you still get corrupted pics, get a new card. If you get corrupted pics with a new card, repair or replace your camera.

Good Luck

I don't know if this will help, but I had a problem with files not showing up on a memory car when I downloaded it to my computer. I went to a full-service camera store and they had the software on a computer to extract the files that my computer wouldn't.
