Can someone please advise me as to how much my car tax will be for a year? Its a 2003 VW 1.9 Polo S SDi.... I have read somewhere that it depends on CO2 emissions?? How can I find out what they are for my car?

Help would be appreciated!

Hi,

Im a Sales Administrator. You will find the co2 emission on your log book. Then to find out the cost log onto DVLA.gov.uk and download a V149 form which will give all the prices.

Phone up your local VW dealers and ask them what car tax band your Polo falls into, then look at the link below.

The CO2 emissions are stated on your registration document (V5c, also called the log book). For your car it should be 132g/km.

Then use the tables at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_10012524
to check the band your car falls in (Band C), and therefore the cost (£115 for 12 months).

look on http://whatcar.com/ and select your vehicle and then select engine, and click on running costs, and look at CO2 emissions, in your case it is 132g/km and then look at car tax costs on http://whatcar.com/news-article.aspx?NA=224982 your vehicle is Band C and so therefore you pay £115 and that is your final car tax cost, hope that helps :)

Your tax renewal form should tell you.
I'm pretty sure it is £190
