This is one question where the answers are more bizarre than the question.

I'll assume by "gay" you mean queers or as they use to be called fags or as they are called in the Bible - sodomites. It's important to use the proper terminology to let everyone know what you're talking about. The use of "gay" is a homophobic term (I think that's what they call it - it means social fear from males who can't get a woman and don't want the natural responsibilities that go with having a wife) used by people that are intimidated into perverting decent words and thereby giving a "decent undertone" to a behaviour that is unacceptable to God and good men everywhere. But, since they pervert a perfectly good thing given by God - why not pervert words as well - Right. Such is to be expected - they probably will end up perverting everything they touch eventually.

But "as long as they don't hurt anybody it's alright". How often have I heard that one. Doesn't anyone think of anyone but themselves? What about all the people whose names are "Gay" which use to be a perfectly good name to call your child whom you loved and wished to be happy and cheerful but now it's a curse to have that name. Have a heart people - don't protect the guilty by including the innocent in their heinous acts. Don't bear "false witness" by calling them something that they're not!

Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

But I hardly expect this evil and adulterous nation to believe that. I can hear it now "oh, but God will forgive me - He'll let me pass on that sin".

Which brings up another point. I've seen several say that sin is sin to God and there is no difference between eating "crab and lobster" than committing acts of indecency as the sodomites do. What a laugher! The great perveyors of truth as they would like to be looked upon as are nothing but as perverters of the truth like the very sin they try to protect.

For those of you that think (I apologize to those who really do or can think) that the ole "don't eat bull's balls or you'll go to hell" argument holds true have you ever read the Bible and who it's written to and when it's written to whom it's written to? You're really grasping at straws when say such things. And to you people who have never read the Bible are you really going to take people's word for it instead of investigating it out yourselves? My goodness you're talking about dietary laws in the OT do you know what the penalties were/are for eating things that are against the dietary laws?

What about sin all being the same? Is there anything to that? Yes, it's true that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God but is it true that all have the same penalties here? A cursory look will tell you that there are different penalties for different sins and crimes. Even in stealing there are different penalties all depending upon how the thing was done and the resulting offense. Sometimes the offender was to pay back 4 times - sometimes 5 times the worth of what he stole - sometimes only 2 times as much. No one's hand was cut off as a result of stealing and if the stealer couldn't pay he was sold into slavery until his debt was paid.

If there are different penalties how can all sin be "the same in God's eyes"? It's still true that it only takes one sin to send you to hell (but you have to be careful with that because that is described in Rom 1) but that's then. As in stealing there were penalties - now!

Do you get that? It's important to get that.

Yes, we're saved by grace but people that's because we can never pay back an eternal God. How do you pay back an eternal God? With an eternity - right? We're not talking about paying back God here to balance the scales. We're talking about the law of sowing and reaping - unless you haven't noticed and taken a look outside - the corn still grows and the beans still flourish.

You know all that stuff you get from the Fast Food places actually came from sowing and reaping? They don't "make" those hamburger patties from "science" you know. They get it from the law of sowing and reaping. Which, again, I say is still in effect. Paul knew this . . .

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Exo 21:24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

Have you ever heard that one? Why isn't it "slap on the wrist - you bad boy - for eye? or tooth? or for hand? Because it's not equitable. How are you going to stop men from beating each other up if you just slap them on the wrist? You're not, all you do is encourage it! Which is plain to see that that is going on today. That's why murder is sky high in our cities today. "Oh, little Johnny didn't mean to hurt him his head just got in the way of that baseball bat - about 10 or 12 times - it was an accident."

And I know if anyone did that to any of these people that said "all sin is the same" they would just forgive them. Right?

Ok, so now we'll go on from the kindergarten classes and graduate to 1st grade.

I mean you have to tell some people everything - just every little step of the way.

Like that man whose signature was needed for a country to enter into a war - the man was coerced into signing this document. - said - "Ok, I'll sign it but I can not help but think that I am standing if front of a colossal stupidity" (something like that but it's appropriate).

The war of righteousness not fought has killed more than all the wars of greed combined.

Since even the simplest perusal of scriptures reveal that different sins have different penalties what are those of the sodomites?

Ever heard of Sodom and Gomorrah? That's where the term "sodomite" comes from. What did God think of Sodom? I mean let's just cut this down to the chase - I can't write about this baby stuff all day long if you want to be deceived - have at it but if you want to know a little about truth - well, I write for a minority let's just put it that way.

You'll never guess what verse number it happens to be.

Gen 13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

These are not just your average "but they don't hurt anybody" sinners. They're wicked, exceeding sinners - that means that they sin - a lot.

Just as the shop lifter becomes a burglar who becomes a bank robber who becomes a highway robber. These graduate from sin to sin to higher sin til they can't feel sin anymore.

Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

It says in the last that they know the judgment of God. We know the judgment of God too in these matters because it's written in His word. If you've not read it - that's you're own fault. If you don't understand simple things such as judgment of these viles creatures - that's your own fault.

God calls them murderers because in the end - they kill their own children - they just force God to do it in His wrath. What America is doing today is committing suicide but not themselves are they killing - they kill their children and not just their own but everyone else's children in the country. The Devil knows that by allowing this to gain a foothold in this country and by allowing it to grow and fester that God will have no choice but to judge America for it's "but they don't hurt anyone" sins.

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The devil, under the guise of Christian love, is coercing the American public to commit suicide "in the name of Jesus" by knowingly and subtly accepting the sodomite as some kind of new-fangled martyr in some nice crispy beautiful packaging that the American public like so well. Tell me don't you buy your Rye grass seed in those nice green packages instead of a brown paper bag that cost $5 less? Oh I know you do if you're a TV conditioned American.

The Devil's a great advertiser you know.

I often get asked the question "Where was God when 9/11 happened?" To which I answer "where were you last Sunday morning?" God's just like you He had somewhere else to be that was much more important than protecting America. America doesn't warrant God's protection anymore - that's what all nations that . . . well, I'll just let God say it.

Psa 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Psa 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Psa 2:3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Psa 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Psa 2:5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Psa 2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Psa 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Psa 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Psa 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
Psa 2:10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Psa 2:11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Psa 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Deu 9:7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.

Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

As far as having sodomites in the churches. I think some churches will have them because they have Ichabod written (in invisible ink, of course) on their doorposts (the glory of the Lord departed) - of course they'll have them in - as long as they tithe!

But good churches won't have them - those that stand for godliness and God's word won't have them. Of course they're the ones who will feel the hammer of the devil the most and who will be ridiculed by the media and the other loving murderers of our day.

Of course in Biblical Churches you have a much higher standard for preachers than you do the regular members so of course he couldn't be a sodomite. How could he preach against it if he was? God doesn't want hypocrite's in the pulpit but that doesn't stop them from coming in. You can point at those who are and say hypocrites and I'll say "Amen". I have no room for those in the ministry who use it for their own devices and hide behind the religious garb to serve their own needs. They ought to be tar and feathered and put on the next railcar out of town - and if the ACLU wants to go with them that's fine with me - we'll make more tar.

Have a nice day. Smile, God loves you.

Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Jud 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Jud 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
Jud 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
Jud 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Jud 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Jud 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
Jud 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
Jud 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Jud 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
Jud 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Jud 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Jud 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jud 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
Jud 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Jud 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

I would leave my church if I found out that its leader was a practicing Homosexual, as the bible does teach that it is not right & a sin. As Christians we are taught that if we know of member in the church who are that way inclined that we should discourage them from their homosexual actions, and to stay single, and that we should encourage them in their Christian faith.
But this is my personal oppion and I know that others will disagree.

Churches should be open to all, as long as the truth is taught in the church and the leaders follow that truth, then the rest is between God and the individual, with the help of fellow Christians if it is needed and asked for.

Assuming your a Christian, then no its not hypocratic to have a gay church member or leader because to Christians homosexuality is a sin and all sins are weighted the same (save blaphemy). Christianity is founded on the belief that we are all sinners so to do deny a sinner is to deny all members of the church.

Its ok for the church leader to have a homosexual relationship as long as their partner is under 12,and the marriage is sanctioned by a bishop.

I think it is ceratinly hypocracy to knowingly appoint a churchleader who is homosexual.
It is also hypocritical of the gay to accept or seek church leadership.

As members of one church or another, we all have personal weaknesses.
If being homosexual happens to be your weakness, it is a very big one to have, and highly frowned upon by the Lord [Hence, the reason he dealt so harshly with Sodom and Gomorrah!], but repentance is available to all who come unto Christ in humility and with broken heart and plead for His help in helping them overcome all their sins.
A sin as tough as homosexuality is often a hard road back, but with help, many have made it.

I think it is totally out of order to say homosexuality in a sin and I don't agree with some of the comments posted above either. If your really that stupid to have to cling onto a comic book writen 1000s of years ago that has been changed thru translation and revision, you lead a view sad life.

In many cases religion is the root of all evil, with some 'believers' thinking it is wrong to be homosexual just because they are told by a book...

If homosexuals are excluded from becoming a part in the church you could probably to the church to court under the discrimination act. Just in the same way you wouldn't expect a female to be excluded.

It still stands true in the bible that homosexuals & Lesbians are commiting sin, It is an obimination To God. As a church leader, there is not one homosexual that meets the qualifications for the ministry. They are to be the Huband of ONE wife, & not the husband of a husband.

There are some reasons to go to Church that are perhaps not originally intended.

The reason that are intended that I can assemble today are:
1) To worship God.
2) To learn about God.
3) To help others learn about God.
4) To be a part of the ministry.

Whether one might be homosexual or not simply does not fall into those reasons.

I have been feeling very convicted about this lately and here is why. Homosexuality is a sin, just like lying, cheating, and murder. In God's eyes sin is sin. My current pastor is a sinner and we allow him to lead by God's grace. However, Christians should recognize sin as sin and then by the power of Christ be transformed from the old self to the new self. I know our pastor is vigilantly working on his sin issues just as I am for mine. Therefore, if the person was a homosexual and still practicing that lifestyle and had no intention of changing, then he would not be a leader in my church.

I believe that the Bible, both OT and NT, make it completely clear that God is against homosexual behavior. Anyone who engages in repeated sin is far from Him. So, to my understanding, an actively gay person has no place within Church leadership.

Let's put this question into another context. The Bible condemns unrepentent murderers, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, witches, etc. If someone was in a leadership position within the Church, yet was actively engaged in any of these behaviors, he would be unquestioningly removed. There is simply no difference between any of these sins. To draw a line in the sand between these sins and homosexuality is unbiblical and hypocritical.
