I have no idea where the remote control for my DVD player is at... It's been like a year, and I've given up on it.
Now I am stuck. Do I need to buy a new DVD player?
Mine works, but I kind of need the remote to do some functions that the menu panel on the player doesn't allow me to do.
Thanks in advance.

Try to get a universal remote that's made by your DVD player. That way, you won't have to program it. Programming universal remote is a mild nightmare, as all the functions usually won't work.

Otherwise, either call that 1800remotes number that the other person posted or just get a new dvd player. You can get a good dvd player these days for like 50 bucks, sometimes cheaper. A remote is going to be like 20 bucks.

I had the same problem. I was able to program a remote that came with my Sony TV to do most DVD chores. The problem was that the functions that worked were effectively VCR-type functions. I considered a more expensive universal remote, one that I could program with codes from the Internet, but the ones I liked were far more expensive than the replacement remote I found on eBay. I've had this one for six months and have no problems. It cost about $21US.

You could buy a universal remote from Wal Mart or you could contact the manufacturer of the DVD player and buy one from them. I don't think you would have to buy a new DVD player

I recommend you buy a universal remote that has a menu button on it. This is a far less expensive option than buying a replacement from the manufacturer.
