Bob, I don't think any of your links discredit the movie. In fact, the realclimate.org says that the movie was correct that CO2 levels FOLLOW temperature rises, but that the movie exagerates how much they lag by. So the basic premise of the movie is true?
If you are so trusting of the IPCC, maybe you should read their Procedures for Preparation, Review...and Publication of IPCC Reports" where they indicate "when changes in the longer report of the Synthesis Report are required either to conform it to the SPM (summary for policymakers) or to ensure consistency with the underlying Assessment reports, the Panel and authors will note where changes are required in the longer report..." In other words, the will reach an opinion first and issue the SPM (which the just did in February) and if the studies don't back up what was said in the SPM, they will change the report to match the SPM. How is this science? The IPCC admits that it is fundamentally dishonest.

There is no doubt that the Earth is getting warmer. The argument is over the cause. It is imposible to prove a negative so all the research money goes to trying to prove the global warming is a threat. The earth has been warming since well before the industrial revolution and is still cooler than a period called "the medieval climate optimum." There are no stories of world wide chaos and destructive weather from that time period. Global warming is a cause that is not the world ending threat that Al Gore wants you to think that it is. However if it is used to help develop alternative fuels and decrease dependance on foreign oil, than it is a useful propoganda tool that can cause some good, even if it is based on lies and fear.

That movie has been discredited.
It is scientifically wrong. The producer has a clear bias. Channel 4 had to apologise for his unfair distortions of scientific views after they broadcast a 1997 movie of his trashing the environmental movement in general. Details:
http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/climate_change/article2355956.ece
http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2007/03/swindled/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Durkin_(television_director)
http://www.medialens.org/alerts/07/0313pure_propaganda_the.php
It couldn't be "just a few power crazed people". Thousands of scientists all around the world support the reality of global warming. To think that this is a massive conspiracy seems silly to me. Like saying NASA faked the moon landings.
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686
http://www.ipcc.ch/SPM2feb07.pdf
EDIT: Responding to the comments below. Here's what realclimate actually says about the CO2 lag (from a link in the link I provided):
"From studying all the available data (not just ice cores), the probable sequence of events at a termination goes something like this. Some (currently unknown) process causes Antarctica and the surrounding ocean to warm. This process also causes CO2 to start rising, about 800 years later. Then CO2 further warms the whole planet, because of its heat-trapping properties. This leads to even further CO2 release. So CO2 during ice ages should be thought of as a "feedback", much like the feedback that results from putting a microphone too near to a loudspeaker."
http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2004/12/co2-in-ice-cores/
So, historically it is unnatural for CO2 to initiate a warming, but warming causes more CO2 to be emitted by nature. Now, of course, data shows clearly man made CO2 is initiating the current warming. The resulting natural emission of CO2 will make it a lot worse.
The CO2 feedback explanation for historic CO2 lags has been widely published, with data, including in the peer reviewed literature. The movie producer neglected to mention it, however.
If anyone thinks the IPCC is biased read the wikipedia article about the movie producer. That's bias.
The links don't discredit the movie???? Surely you didn't actually read them. Several point out the scientific distortions. The first says:
"A Channel 4 documentary claimed that climate change was a conspiratorial lie. But an analysis of the evidence it used shows the film was riddled with distortions and errors"
The last calls it "Pure Propaganda".
They're just a few of the sites posting similar refutations of the movie.

For many in the near future, water will be worth more than gold. The water in plastic bottles you buy in stores is dead water. Water from a well is alive and water from a Coca Cola Plant is dead.
The only immortal I know is called Planet Earth . She keeps on spinning after millions of years. She can wipe off of her back a whole civilization in a blinking of an eye. She has done it many times and has no fear of humans.
Humans fear the end, the global war between a planet and its inhabitant. Will you care about global warning after you die.
I did not watch the UTube video you posted, I have no time.
The way you treat your human body is the way you treat planet earth. Keep on eating fast food, drink as much phosphoric acid as you can, the main ingredient in Coca Cola and you wonder why the ice caps are melting .
Planet earth is very patient. She is so patient that if it takes 10,000 years of ice age to heal, she will wait that long. The goal here is to create a specie of humans that can live in harmony with nature. Just like in a lab, many expereiments fail and you start over.
Have you ever wondered why humans are cursed with death. Everyone you know will die one day. Why ...Planet earth knows not of death , only of infinity. Global warming is so real that the memory of the last civilization in Egypt is the proof that humans can extinct themselves by disrespecting the planet they are on.

Well since mankind as we know it was not around at the time we can't say what happened then. We can only theorize. We have to trust what we see happening now and how it will affect mankind now. There has to be a reason why we are getting sick with new viruses and diseases. Why wildlife is dieing off, why it is getting hotter, why we can't breath as well. We have to ask why and do something instead of just sit around with our thumbs stuck up our bums saying that nothing is wrong. Something is wrong!

thousands of Chinese ,Africans an Mexicans would disagree with you especially the dead ones
MANS EFFECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT
(this is limited to effects of people in the country, industrial effects on the environment and the internal combustion engine as well as the over all effects of cities ,is another story)
DEFORESTATION
expanding populations and expanding farming ,that has to keep pace with the expanding populations are very strong forces that encroach upon the rainforest's
clearing them for farming and settlement areas .
Rainforest's always are in third world countries and always in third world countries corruption and the need for money s highest
the jungle gets smaller by the day
more and more farmers move in .and burn the trees
it is an impossible situation
as long as there is poverty in these regions the destruction will continue
ON THE GROUND
go to the countries on the equator ,check what has happened in history
and listen to what is going on in the many disaster areas on this planet today,(and there are more than ever each year )
: i have seen lands that have been turned from jungle into desserts by people in a matter of a couple of years ,because of the slash and burn method used by settlers and expanding agriculture, and i have seen rivers dry up because of deforrestation in many places in Africa and Mexico ,
there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms
in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification, and flash floods because of deforestation
in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days
in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.
collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,
as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss
each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss
more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,
and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing
RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.
Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,
At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.
SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks
,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
recicling wastes,limit water use
