Lol. Dharmana. Very True :). Seriously though, if by god we are talking about the God of Israel or Allah, i think man can. Be a creator, atleast, of living creatures; especially humans. That's why Cloning is still illegal. Because then people would start creating and cloning those types of people with genes they find preferable (in this case white skin, blue/green eyes, blond hair, the classic!). However, i doubt man could be as benevolent and forgiving, however much learned he becomes, as god or gods are supposed to be.

Any man can take the place of god according to his own depiction. But a true God is the one who remains besides the believer that has yet to see his God. Not some mortal who will eventually suffer death and claims to return but hasn't figured out how to.

Could we with ink the ocean fill
And were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky

no. no one can ever take place of God but it's not uncommon for man to place man somewhere above God and let them become an idol. anything you care about greater than God is an idol and even though you think God is replaced by it, God is always greater reguardless.

Possibly. I say this because man is possible of the worst evils mankind can sometimes not even think of. So, that would make them replace the Satan character, wouldn't it? Therefore, if a man is so good people can't believe it, then he could possibly replace god, yes? Just a thought....

This happens all the time. They are called ministers, preachers etc. Not that I particularly believe in god, but my point is that theists tend to believe in their own particular religious institution and not in god.

Perhaps man isn't taking the place of god so much as man is putting the institution in god's place.
