Why not? It's really irritating how people have made it seem like technology is bad for teens nowadays. Teens grow with the time, and this generation is used to Ipods and cell phones and instant messaging and while it may be a distraction for you because you didn't have it when you were younger, it's something of a necessity for us. I happen to think that music keeps your attention on the homework because in just plain silence we have the tendency to let our minds wander. So yeah...let him wear it

Yes some people have a hard time tuning out background noise, an ipod or MP3 player can actually help someone who is easily distracted to concentrate.

sum times when u listen 2 music, it helps you concentrate and other times it distracts u, coz u'll end up concentrating more on the music and less on the homework, that could make him drop a grade coz he wont be concentrating. Hope i helped, oh and by the way i listen to music when i study and i have to turn it off as i lose concentration on things i gotta do.

Yes, i think it's ok. Better than blasting the sound throughout the house.
But my real concern is his hearing. Continuous Ipod use will make him deaf.

teenages , now is real stress . but if wearing ipod while doing homework will affect his concentrat to his work i think better not . as once you additcted to listening to ipod while doing homework it is hard to change as it became a habbit . but if it will help him to relax stress i don't think there is anything worng unless it really affects him

if he gets the work done properly, and maintains good grades, I see no reason why not. Let him know if his grades slip, he loses the priviledge. My daughter listens to her ipod while doing work and is on the honor roll. I think kids today can process information well

My son does. I think that it helps him better to have sound around him instead of silence. It depends on the kid, some kids get distracted easier then then others.

As long as he is doing his homework, and doing it well what is the harm?
I often listen to music while working, and often did while studying.

Yeah, you could? It helps me concentrate sometimes, apart from maths homework, you need silence for that. I think.

I wouldn't. It's a distraction and he would also be concentrating on the music and not solely to his homework. This is a dispute in my household also.
