I am on my second round of antibiotics for the same thing as you. I work in a dry climate country, and the even more dry air central aircon in office makes things even worse for me.

I got an otc nasal spray called Similasan, it keeps the nasal passage wet. There is also a inhaler called OLBUS, just like those vicks inhalers, but this one keeps the nasal passage wet. It's non-habit forming and can be used as often as needed. Also get some shower soothers. They are large tablets that you put on the floor of the shower. As the warm water melts it, the vapors WILL open your sinuses.

I also try a saline nasal rinse (not a spray.) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It draws out all the gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean). The buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot.

A humidifier will help you as well, try turning it up at 75% humidity. It gives temporary relief though, at least for me.

Hope this helps.

a humidifier adds moisture to the air and might help. a dehumidifier takes moisture out of the air. there are saline nose sprays you can buy over the counter. you might want to see a doctor about the glands.

You need humidity (moistusre) so a humidifier is what you need but you don't need to get into a big expense. Boiling water on the stove will help, setting out containers of water near heat registers will help as will drying laundry in the house.

If you're in pain, go let a doctor examine you - might have an infection and need an antibiotic. A humidifier is what you need if you're using heat in the house still. (Use a dehumidifier if you're in the South USA and it's humid.)

You need humidity!

Also, try saline nasal spray - just saline, nothing else in there. Use it often.

If it's really bad, you can get a mild expectorant prescription. Your doctor can prescribe time-released Guafinesin (not sure of spelling), and you can try over-the-counter Guafinesin to keep your nose moist. I use both. I find that I don't get colds anymore because my nose is happy and healthy!
