Personally, the "best" resource I have for teaching young children is the love of Christ that gives me the patience to listen and to comfort and to be child like without being childish so that the children can relate to me on a more open level and hopefully see a glimmer of Jesus and his love for them in me.

I use to be. I loved teaching the young kids. It was a great reward just to see their faces light up. There was times when you wondered if what you was teaching was getting through and then there mom or dad would tell us about what they said at home. They would tell them what they learned that day. All my thoughts for teaching came from books but I would try to add more visual aids so they would grasp it.

I teach 1st graders at my church. They are so much fun. I like that age group because they believe what you tell them. Older kids will doubt you and argue with you and ask you to "prove it."
I am Catholic and I have books from Ignatius Press that I sometimes use. Also, I sometimes use www. faithfirst.com.

I've done youth....but not the kids.
The kids are much harder I think. They're very hungry to learn but....sometimes hard to keep thier attention span.

connecting with the kids and LifeWay is where we get all our educational material.4th and 5th graders are the Best!!!
