Any old 18 year old car can have problems the KA-24 engine does not make enough power. So a month out of service while you put in a 2.0 liter DET motor with turbos. First car I would reccomend a Honda Civic while they are not super fast there are more performance parts for Honda. Second car get a good Body 240SX and modify it.

Lots of misinformation here.

The S13 WAS available with HICAS, but not a VLSD.

There's a VIN check tool at http://www.240sx.org that will tell you everything about your 240.

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Best way to do this is run your VIN number. Check out this general VIN "how to read" http://www.courtesyparts.com/specs/vin.html . Also, you can go to your dealer or run a CarFax on it.

Lift the car up with a jack stands or a lift. Spin one of the rear wheels and if the other spins in the opposite direction then it is has a LSD. As far as HICAS, no. Skylines in 91 had that feature but it was not carried down to the 240sx.
