You have plenty of choice. You did not specify cuisine or price but here are some ideas. Dim sum is a nice idea for lunch, served in Chinatown. Best is Yauatcha in Broadwick Street, Soho. Luckily for lunch even top restaurants usually do cheaper menus to attract people in, so you could consider trying somewhere smart and taking advantage of this. In Mayfair Gavroche (2 Michelin stars) does a surprisingly cheap set lunch for £48 including wine (in the evening you can easily spend three times this) while Gordon Ramsay at Claridges does a set lunch for £30. Alternatively you could go for top class Indian food at Mint Leaf with a £15 two course set lunch. For other ideas see my web site www.andyhayler.com

If you like good cheap Chinese food, you cannot beat Wong Kei in Wardour street.
You sit at large round tables with other people and eat large portions of cheap tasty food. Always busy but incredibly quick service.
At the other end of the budget i've always had a yen to try The Ivy
