Basically, i have only recently found out that i `apparantly` have a `formal warning` against me from my juvenile years...which i had no idea i had and dont believe it to be honest. This has stopped me getting the job of my dreams as i had no idea about this.
I have asked for a PNC (Police National Computer) check against all my details and will find out soon, the outcome.
If there has been a `formal warning` made against me at some point in my life but i am adamant that i have never received one or remember receiving one...can i appeal against it with the Metropolitan Police?

Each force has a data protection officer. You would need to make contact with them and ask for their assistance.

Each force is responsible for their own entries and quality of retained data.

Sorry to disagree with the earlier comment but nowadays formal warnings do go on PNC but to be fair this only came into effect very recently. I can't see how such an old record would be on PNC, are you sure you have been told the correct information?

In any case under the Data Protection Act you are allowed to point out any erroneous entry relating to you on a computer record and if it is shown to be incorrect you are entitled to have the entry corrected.

Due to the new freedom of information acts the met need to supply you with all the info and details if you apply for it i.e written letter , Mistakes happen I applied for job with the police after being a special for three years and apparently I had attended court for a conviction which wasn't the case I had received a caution aged 13 but it had never gone any further , needless to say they were left in a predicament!

A formal warning as you put it wouldnt be on the PNC and I dont know how you are getting anything from the PNC.I suggest you go to dataprotection.gov.uk where you can get your rights and find out what to do about this.

well to my understanding juvinille records do not roll over to your adulthood life, if that business looked into your juvinille records and you are now over 18 then they've broken the law.
