if your ins company says significant other not spouse
then yes if not then no

and you have to prove you have been together for a long period of time and will stay together

i have been happily unmarried for a very long time and i could just add my honey to my ins his changed a few yrs ago but mine still said spouse

you can also call them and ask some may not have changed the paper work yet
we have a mortgage together so they know we are together to stay
