I'm helping my boyf with his family tree. All he knew was his name, his mom's name, and his paternal grandfather's name, and I was able to find all kinds of stuff on Ancestry.com

Ancestry.com rules! And you can find other people on there who are researching closely related trees that may share branches with your tree, and you can get info from them too.

The other thing you can do is talk to your bf and see who in the family knows the most about the family tree. Email them and see if they know anything. Check public records offices in the town where they were born for clues.

If you email me with more info I can try to look them up on ancestry.com for you.

Try www.ancestry.com

You'll have to sign up for a trial membership, but if you cancel within 14 days you won't be charged.

The site is full of useful information and has records for births, deaths, marriages, divorces, census info from back to 1790 I think, immigration, etc.

When you search, you can put in a range of years (if he was adopted you could assume that his mother was a teenager), and when you search for the name, you can choose "exact spelling" (if you know for sure) or "soundex" (for when you don't know the exact spelling).

Good luck to you!

Our soul communities are extensive so that is possible so which you could chat to somebody midway international and not in any respect see them back, yet you will have generic them on the different part. There are surely no regulations. conferences occure while there remains some thing to be labored out.

your best bet is to post on message boards. If they are alive you won't find them on genealogy sites. Try some of the adoptee message boards, try the agency that handled his adoption. They may not want to be contacted so be very careful. If you post on the boards asking for them to email you it lets them contact you when they are ready if they are ready.
