Price varies between vets, but on average it could be somewhere between $70 and $150. Some humane societies or vets offer specials for neutering and spaying. The average age for neutering is about 6 months.

most vets charge a flat fee for the acutal surgery, and the different prices are based on how much anesthesia your dog will need. A shih tzu should be relatively inexpensive because they are so small. The surgery can be done any time after 6 months of age.

Neuter/Spay costs are really dependent on where go. Typically it falls in the $45-$110 price range.
Try calling your local veterinarians and asking what their prices are. Most places will probably want a full check-up if you're a first time patient as well.
As for age:
Typically 7-8 mos.

In my central Pennsylvania area it is about $200 at the vet, but if you are willing to be flexible with times the humane society or local SPCA usually has a discount vet. The vet is fine, great in fact b/c she is usually donating her time for the good of dogs. It would be about $65. Take care of him ASAP. I really truly love shih tzus but the world has enough of 'em.

Around £100 although if you are on certain benefits and you can find a vets that participate in the scheme, Blue Cross offer to subsidise the neutering so it will only cost you £25.

the best way to get that answer is to call any local vet office and ask them because it always depends on the age and weight of the dog.
