I was wondering if someone knows a function or equation that I can use that calculates the difference in time? You know like 6:00am to 3:30pm.. and you want to know how many hours and minutes this is.... It's 9.5 hours. But does anyone know an equation that I can use in EXCEL for this?

I just tried it - I am guessing that this is for something like logging hours? Anyway, I used an addition and subtraction equation. The cells containing the actual time were formatted for "time" using AM/PM. The formula cell was formatted "custom" on "h:mm" and then I put formula as =d1-c1+b1-a1. (e1 was the formula cell)

Now this is if you are trying to figure time as in when someone clocks in and out and total time worked. But you still have to change the minutes to decimal. Ex. 3 hours and 45 min = 3.75 hours. I didn't go that far since I don't know what you are using it for. Good Luck.
