... even a separate way of spelling, perhaps?

Seriously, the more any group - not just Christians - set themselves apart from everyone else, the more outsiders will regard them with suspicion, fear and hostility... the "us and them" mentality that leads to isolation and ghettos, bigotry and intimidation. Do Christians really want to end up in Christian "ghettos"?

The best advertisement for any group is to demonstrate that they're "just as human as everyone else". I used to work across a desk from an evangelical baptist... no-one treated him any different from anyone else because he didn't behave any differently from anyone else... he didn't set himself apart from (or above) his co-workers and most people never knew anything about his beliefs. In fact when I told several people about his religion they were surprised - surprised because most people have an image in their heads about bible-thumping fire-breathing evangelists who talk about nothing other than Jesus all day long, which is off-putting to say the least. By being "just an ordinary guy" he acted as the best possible advertisement for his religion.

Good point. We are suppose to be a light unto the world not a light separate from the world. It is nice, however, to have places we can go where the values we hold are prevelant. It's also nice to have a place where we can meet others of the same mind. As long as we don't spend all our time separate it's not a bad thing. It only becomes a problem when we interact with Christians and no one else.

Actually, you are being marketed to.

Christian bands are typically bands that wouldn't have a chance in the secular world. So they turn to writing lyrics about God and become successful.

Christian Clothing lines? Wow.

I am thinking about starting my own Christian product website. I actually know someone who is currently doing it. He is an agnostic, but can get Christians to spend 30-40% mark ups because they want to purchase from a good Christian company. Its just a way for Christians, and some non Christians to take your money.

Why is there BET

More importantly what would the world's reaction be if someone started the WHITE ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION station WET

Why is there Arab TV

Why is there Bollywood

Why does American need Bilingual Education

Why doesn't France, Germany, Sweden, Japan offer it.

Seems like separation and segregation is a human inclination for some reason.

good question..
I believe that sites like this are created with a good purpose.. But dont end up in such a good way.
By that i mean Christians make these sites so they dont have to put up with all the swearing, mockery, ridicule etc they get from other people on sites like this.. Although they have good intentions it does seem to separate us, and this is why i would much rather be on a site like this, where i can have my opinion heard for the greater good.
Hope this helps

Forsake ye not the assembling of yourselves

Is that a suggestion or a command?

With all the unbelief and pressure in this world we need a place to recharge with people who believe as well.

Some of it is taking it too far I agree.

I agree with the guy above "Come out from among them." When you get to a certain place in your spiritual walk, you can't be around non-christians all the time. Not just because of negative influence, but for me constant contact with them shows me how lost they are. Sometimes I just need a break.

Not to mention, you really can't discuss or seek help on spiritual matter from non-christains.

It isn't isolating yourselves it's just things that can help you to be with like minded folk. With a clothing store I assume their would be shirts professing your love for your religion and wearing them out would make you stand out.

The word says come out from amongst them and be separate, and we don't want to date liars and cheaters and players so we hide from them and gather together like the bible says, it says do not be unequally yoked with non believers, yes we are around them all day and witness to them but in the personal life we trust and want believers around.
