I don't know if it's a personality disorder, but there is clearly a mental deficiency that is common among the religious community. I tend to think that it is due to the fact that they are more dependent upon the primitive reptilian area of the brain and less dependent upon the higher functioning cerebral cortex. The reptilian brain is that area that is responsible for fear, aggression, territoriality and the willingness to follow leaders blindly.
This deficiency of the brain helps to explain why that same group of people who embrace the ghosts and goblins of religion; and who embrace fairy tales where not one shred of proof exists, and whose previous findings have been laid to waste by the efforts of science, are also the targets of the blatant lies perpetuated by the Republican Party. They know a good audience when they see one.

For some, religion is a personality disorder. Have a look at the anti-social Muslims. All religions have cultish behavior. It depends upon the person.

I first heard the term BPD as quickly as I experienced a breakdown exceptionally much 2 years in the past & finally sought scientific suggestion. As i became experiencing dramatic fluxes between intense & low moods, I initially thought I had Bipolar sickness. until eventually i became clinically determined, i became unaware of the indications & reasons of BPD, or perhaps that it existed in any respect. even with learning the subject rely drastically, I certainly have encountered subject in getting access to the scientific care & suggestion had to help my restoration. so as to attempt by contrast debilitating sickness, i think better information would desire to be provided, no longer in basic terms to the final public, yet additionally to those scientific practitioners to blame for its diagnosis & scientific care.

Is a lack of religion sociopathic? Or are both ideas very bad stereotypes that undermine peaceful co-existence?

Please don't tar all religious people with the same brush. Some fundamentalists and extreme conservatives may well have such traits, other religious people (like myself) identify as liberals and strongly welcome rational interrogation of their faith. Most religious people are just ordinary folks doing the best they can. Your condescension is unhelpful.

Sounds like that can apply to an atheist or scientist as well.
Sounds like it applies to Fidel Castro.
