To Answer this question, I served this country in the United States military, and I might add I served in three different branches, citizenship to me means a great deal, there are people who fought and died for this country, (In some cases unfortunately, needlessly!)but still they did their duty and paid the ultimate price! and I would like everyone to remember this who ever reads this, "A Country that forgets it's defenders, soon will become a forgotten country" and I don't and I'm sure there are many other people who feels the same way, we do not appreciate people migrating to our country and attempting to enforce their will and language or religion upon us, too many people have fought and died for it, for Freedom even though many people have paid the ultimate price Freedom isn't free......Amen!!!!

Unfortunately it means nothing to so many because now a days you don't have to be a citizen to get all the perks. People who aren't citizens sometimes get more than the people who are. Its Sad. but for me it,s the honor of being a part of a great country and being able to walk down the street and know that if i need help there will be someone to help me. It's knowing that if I leave my home everything i have will be safe and if its violated in any way there will be someone to help me get it back. Citizenship you be different for everyone.

Citizenship to me means I belong to a group of people who have common thoughts toward living. I was born to this place, still choose to live here or just choose to be here if possible. Citizenship could be agreement with the rules, ,customs, religion, culture, etc. Citizenship is holding myself to act in a good way for the place I choose.

In America it means, "One Country, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!" The founding fathers used a reference to God as an all supreme being, or creator of the universe. They did not use it in the term of being Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist, or a specific religion. It was more a binding thing that unites us all. America has been a melting pot. We enjoy those freedoms protected by the Constitution and they have been paid for with blood. We are bound to protect the Constitution from enemies, "Foreign and domestic." Our founding fathers had the wisdom then to foresee some special interest groups who would argue that "God" means a particular religious sect, just as those who are intolerant of others tend to segregate us by race, color or creed. Anyone who does this is an enemy of the Constitution, as we are all on the same boat. We were meant to be one nation only, America! In this union we remain strong. In this union we can look at the sum of our differences resulting in a better and positive outcome. If we break down into segregated groups we become our own enemy and can easily fall, one by one.

I believe that citizenship means a person has a right to live in a certain area with fellow citizens. Today that means that regardless of race, creed, religion etc... that people should be able to live together in a state of peace.

Personally, I believe that if you are born of a Country, you automatically are a citizen, unless you got into that Country without the Government knowing, therefore illegal. A person whom believes what the majority of a place believe is a good citizen, and vice-verso ! Citizenship means Loyalty to your country, and what it stands for. A person visiting can hardly be called a citizen. Good Luck !!

I am very proud to be a citizen of the United States. I feel extremely lucky to have been born here. That my children are also citizens is a blessing beyond measure. As a citizen I have all of the priveleges that are accorded to citizens of the United States. I also have responsibilities as a citizen. I pay taxes, pay attention to polical matters, obey the laws of this land and generally try to be a good citizen. Citizenship is very important to me.

Citizenship gives you the rights and privledges covered by that country.
If you're not a citizen of this country you shouldn't be given the same benefits as our citizens. This should include social security benefits, public aid, resident college tuition, freedom to move around the country without showing papers, the right to vote and all other protections covered by our Constituition

Citizenship, referring to the U.S., means learning the English language fluently (should be required before granting citizenship), obeying the laws, paying taxes like the rest of us do,voting, joining us in fighting for our country, and being proud of our country...After all, these immigrants chose to leave their obviously not so great country to make their home here....

As a child, I was not permitted to make derogatory comments about another race, religion or ethnicity. If I did, I was subjected to 3 hrs. of listening to my dad's record by Bing Crosby entitled "I am an American". It worked. Today, although I am judged a "bleeding heart" or Pollyanna by most of my family and friends, I have the ability to feel for ALL of my countrymen. I am proud to live in a country where I can be a liberal, or anything else I wish to be. With all our problems, it is still the ONLY country in the world that celebrates all people regardless of who they are. How lucky am I to be born here with all of America's freedoms at my fingertips!
