Thats a hard question. I have been working around cars for a long time. The one thing I can say is that most small cars are great on gas but cheap and hard on their parts. I suggest you drive as many as you can and see which one will meet your daily driving needs. I see too many people rush a purchase and find out the car does not fit their lifestyle. ie. lots of dry cleaning...no hooks in back seat.

That in part relies upon on what you ought to apply the vehicle for. For single person commuting and finding for optimal miles consistent with gallon, some diesel VW's are exceeding 40 5 MPG. those are quite small autos. a marvelous type of autos at the instant are breaking 30 mpg on the throughway and giving functional convenience. I chosen a Ford Taurus station wagon which gets 26 mpg with the AC off, 23 mpg with AC on. because of the stuff that I carry interior the automobile on a favourite foundation this became my ultimate determination. greater gas financial equipment autos only did no longer have the needed shipment area.

Many people may go for the New Fiat Panda or the Honda Jazz, but I personally think that a Mazda MX5 (especially the ones before 1996) would provide entertainments as well as reasonable fuel consumption as well as cheap parts.

Parts wise they are average, if you are getting a four cylinder they are about the same on gas. If you like automatic I suggest the six cylinder they have more power and four cylinders with automatic transmission don't get that good of gas mileage. With a sic cylinder I would go with Honda very good cars, the Hyundai cost to much for tuneup because of the intake.

Honda & Toyota, best customer satisfaction ratings. Very reliable. Economical to run. Easy to repair, but hardly ever necessary.

I have a Daewoo Matiz, which is small so good for nipping about in and finding parking spaces. I think Chevrolet took over Daewoo or merged with them, so the Chevrolet Matiz is very similar.

The Japanese cars are always so reliable. Parts will cost more if required, but it is so rare to need them. I would prefer that than having a car that proves unreliable.
