I finally met my soulmate but I can't have kids. We have been discussing surrogacy but I don't feel right about someone carrying our child who isn't blood-related to one of us. Is anyone aware of any known issues/complications (genetically) with a blood relative being the surrogate mother?

We plan on being able to use my eggs and not need a donor.

Ok well the first question is.....Are you going to use your egg and his sperm or do you need a surrogate's egg. Secondly. I think that if you choose a surrogate from your side it should be ok. From his side it might be a bit of problem blood wise.

So I would check with your family and see if someone would do it for you.

But I do know someone who used a surrogate who wasn't blood related and it went just fine. You hear all the horror stories out there but that is like 1% or less. There are great stories out there.

Good luck to you.
