It isn't and the white house has no scientists on its staff. Everyone in the whitehouse is a department head or an aid.

ecologists and scientists who work for politicians ,get paid by these politicians and they have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many peoples incomes, and upsets profit margins,so most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.

once the Government admits there is a big problem ,they must make big changes
,
this involves making enemies ,politicians have a problem with that
and the changes will be enormous ,the rich who have big concerns will have to look for alternative methods of doing things
and closing down profitable operations
all this is unacceptable
they dont care enough for the public for that
so dont expect public concern from the controlling powers

It's hardly just Hansen.

"More than 120 scientists across seven federal agencies say they have been pressured to remove references to "climate change" and "global warming" from a range of documents, including press releases and communications with Congress. Roughly the same number say appointees altered the meaning of scientific findings on climate contained in communications related to their research."

The EPA (which is controlled by Republicans) once took out the entire section on global warming from their annual report because politicians had changed the science to the point where it was a lie.

They did it in the past because of political ties to the fossil fuel industry, and the science arguably allowed for distortion to succeed. Now that the scientific evidence for global warming is clear, I believe they'll do it less, maybe not at all.

You are missinformed. American scientists discuss global warming all of the time. You can find much of this discussion on NOAA and NASA websites. These are both U.S governement agencies. Private scientists aslo discuss global warming in a number of forums. Who told you these lies?

The White House is not preventing anybody from talking about global warming.

The liberal media tells the brainwashed minions that lie so that the minions will be more likely to listen to Gore's propaganda.

Well, they don't have scientists, but the White House won't consider global warming because they're ignorant assholes.

The only one who has made this claim is Dr. Hanson from NASA. Amazingly though, during the period that he said he was being "repressed" he was able to conduct 1,400 interviews about global warming. That damn government repression :)

Because the oil companies own the White House (for the next year and a half, anyway).
